In 12:Hours, 04 player characters will be shoved inside a tiny tank and put face to face to the worst days of their lives.

With 72 Illustrated Pages, the manual offers World War Two Tank and Infantry combat rules, mission and map generators, downtime activities and a assortment of ready-to-use threats.

Using d12s, d10s and a standard deck of cards, 12:Hours brings to the TTRPG experience the claustrophobia of armored combat, every player taking on all the roles, duties and dire consequences of being a Tanker at war.

Besides all the hellish steel and boiling mud, characters will live the backwater life of deployment in Europe, solving problems and getting into trouble even when killing isn't the answer.

What are the "Base" values on Armor used for? Are they a minimum value (i.e., if the Driver rolls less than 10 on defense, they actually score a 10)? Or are they something else entirely?

you make the armor roll then subtract the base value from the incoming damage, and figure out if the shot pens or not!

10 damage hitting straight on, no armor roll needed because 10-10=0, roll outside damage;
14 damage hitting straight on, roll armor, if less than 04 armor passes, 14-10=4, the shot penned — roll inside damage.

btw sorry for the late reply, batshit month 😔😔😔 if i can help with anything else, feel free to ask!

Question (and maybe I missed it): say a Tanker, like the driver, is killed mid-battle...can the tank simply not move/stop moving, and is the position unusable for the rest of the mission, or can another Tanker take control of that station at the cost of their turn in their normal station?

Otherwise, like I said in my review I enjoy the layout and, besides a few minor grammatical issues here and there, think this is really cool! Can't wait to possibly play this one day, and thanks again for reuploading as .zip files!

this was something i failed to clarify better on the English version, that, by vocabulary, made more sense on the original text:

what you said is absolutely right, the tanker's roles should be interpreted more as _seats_ on the sherman than actual strict classes. if a guy dies, any other tanker will have to shift from their seat to the felled crewman's position and do their job for them — funilly enough, that's kinda how tanker hierarchy worked back then, you started as a dipshit bow gunner and worked your way through the stations, learning how each one worked, settling on the one your seniors picked for you.

you can see this exact rule interaction implied on the downtime activities, there it says that "if you're driving you can't sleep, or be patched up or so", not that the driver should go fuck themselves, y'know?

tl;dr - tankers are not locked to their roles, only fulfill them better then anyone else. if someone dies, any other tanker shall do their job, but without the focuses or sheet upgrades that tanker had.

and thanks so much for the feedback and kind words ❤

for as much as i practice, English is not my mother tongue and it is monstrously different from Portuguese in every single sense, so writing in it is such a mindbender.

hope y'all keep enjoying my clunky games as much as i love making them

Heya, could you possibly put up a .zip version for extraction on computers where I can't use WinRAR? Excited to give this a go sometime in the future either way!

ERRORS, TYPOS AND STUPID SHIT

If you catch anything weird on the files, please let me know here or on any other social media (@taliautsch everywhere)!!!

SeenGilly made a public typo tracker for the game too; any contribution there is super appreciated!!!

Erratas will be added to the page file and or related threads to make access to corrections the easiest possible 🙏🙏

Just caught a mistranslation on Page 44:

The title and following description are both still in Portuguese; they should say:

"Objective Generator — If you draw an ace for any win condition, go to Page 57 and resolve it there."

If requested enough, I can post a new PDF with this fixed, but i think it's best to let a few errors pile up so fewer patched versions are made... What do you guys think?

I think it's a good idea to wait at least a little while, but not toooooo long. That way you can see some more feedback for clarifications (like the question about filling crew positions), typos, and other stuff to include.

Some translation errors I found while playing:

  • Page 47, paragraphs 10 and 11: still in Portuguese in the English version. Should say something like “Warehouse is destroyed or taken over by the attacking force.”

  • Page 9 all paragraphs, page 11 paragraph 1, page 55 paragraphs 2 and 4, page 58 paragraph 6, page 60 paragraphs 2 and 4: “Tensão” is translated as both “Break Pile” and “Tension” in English. I think “Tension” is the clearer translation.

Thanks for the help! All added to the typo-doc, will be fixed on the patch!

If any of these (or others) come to affect gameplay, feel free to call me here, on discord or bluesky (all with the same handle) and we'll sort it out ASAP!
